Prior to his first appearance for Inter Miami this week, Lionel Messi took some time to comfort DJ Khaled’s son by accompanying him as a mascot onto the field before the game started.
The loud cheers and applause that greeted the team as they walked onto the field at DRV PNK Stadium seemed to overwhelm 7-year-old Asahd. He couldn’t help but shed tears as he stood face to face with Messi in the team lineup.
After gathering himself, a young Asahd gave a thumbs up to soccer star Messi, who acknowledged the gesture. DJ Khaled then shared a video of Messi accompanying his son onto the field, expressing pride in his child. Messi showcased his soft side before the match but swiftly switched gears once it began, scoring two goals within the first twenty-two minutes to lead Inter Miami to a 4-0 victory over Atlanta United.
Sergio Busquets provided the perfect assist for his first goal, as he sprinted towards the goal and managed to score after hitting the post with his initial shot. Atlanta’s defense failed to clear a pass into the penalty area, allowing him to net his second goal. Shortly after, the team’s new addition, Robert Taylor, added two more goals before the halftime whistle, securing a comfortable victory.
Messi, in his second match after returning to the team, played for 78 minutes as he works on getting back to full fitness.
Famous personalities such as P Diddy and Camilla Cabello were in attendance alongside DJ Khaled at Miami’s DRV PNK Stadium to watch Messi’s second game.
