“Dua Lipa’s Victorian Themed Dinner Soirée in her Latest Collab with Pop Smoke, “Demeanor””

Dua Lipa is having a blast as if she were living in the 19th century.

Dua Lipa takes a trip back in time with her latest music video for “Demeanor”, her collaboration with the late Pop Smoke. The video, directed by Nabil who has previously worked on Lipa’s “Don’t Start Now” and Kendrick Lamar’s “DNA.”, features a lavish Victorian-era castle setting where Lipa and her entourage are seen indulging in an extravagant dinner party, dancing, and other frivolities. The visuals are nothing short of over-the-top and perfectly complement the infectious beat of the track.

Lipa looks like a storybook princess in her outfit styled by Lorenzo Posocco. She wears an exquisite vintage corset from Jean Paul Gaultier’s spring/summer 1998 collection that shimmers under the fairytale-like setting. Lorenzo Posocco accessorizes her look with sapphire earrings and a VRAM ring that adds elegance to her overall appearance.

Pop Smoke may not appear in the music video, but his image is present through an animated painting and a hologram-like rendering. The late Brooklyn rapper, whose real name is Bashar Barakah Jackson, passed away at the age of 20 in February 2020 after being shot in his California residence. Pop Smoke’s untimely death left a deep impact on the hip-hop community and the music industry as a whole.

Smoke’s latest album, Faith, was released after his passing, and it features a collaboration with Lipa on the track “Demeanor”. It appears that Smoke was a fan of hers, and the album also includes contributions from other notable artists such as Kanye West, Pharrell Williams, and The-Dream. This marks the second posthumous album to be released following last year’s Shoot for the Stars Aim for the Moon, which was met with critical acclaim.

Lipa expressed her gratitude towards Pop Smoke’s estate for allowing her to collaborate with the renowned artist, as she announced the launch of the “Demeanor” video. She took to Instagram and extended her thanks, saying, “I am very grateful to the team and Pop’s family for giving me the chance to work on this track. I also want to extend my appreciation to my friends who helped me create this stunning video.”
